CENSIL 500 High pore-volume silica

CENSIL 500 is a high pore-volume silica in Sensilchem's porous silica family. Supplied as a coating matting grade, and used on the fluoride track as a high pore-volume comparison substrate when a screening programme needs a second reference point. It is quoted on the industrial fluoride removal, coating matting & rheology tracks. Specifications, the technical data sheet and a COA are issued per enquiry; the fit is confirmed on your own line.

What is CENSIL 500 used for?

  • Industrial Fluoride Removal — Fluoride-bearing industrial wastewater · Polishing after primary treatment. Situations where CENSIL 500 is the starting point: High pore-volume comparison.
  • Coating Matting & Rheology — Wood coatings · Industrial · UV · Waterborne · Powder coatings. Situations where CENSIL 500 is the starting point: used as a comparison grade.
Important — CENSIL 320 / 310 / 500 are silica-based carrier candidates for functionalisation screening at this stage. They are not validated or claimable fluoride-removal products. No fluoride-removal performance is promised before active-component documentation, customer water-sample bench tests and dynamic column results are available. Sensilchem does not accept responsibility for final engineered effluent quality.

How does CENSIL 500 compare with the other grades in its family?

Higher pore volume and surface development. These grades carry, stabilise and adsorb rather than simply keeping a powder loose.

CENSIL 310

A moderate-surface porous route for food powders, brewing stabilisation, toothpaste and flavour carriers. The general-purpose choice when structure matters more than sheer capacity.

CENSIL 320

The high-surface porous grade. Used in food and oral-care work where adsorption and structure both matter, and it is our preferred base material for fluoride-removal functionalisation screening — as a candidate substrate, not a finished adsorbent.

How do you test CENSIL 500?

Run CENSIL 500 beside the material you use now, in your own system at the same loading, and read the dimensions below. We send a short test plan with every sample set.

Test dimensionWhat to watchWhat it tells you
Effluent fluoridePerformance across different inlet concentrationsTells you if the target is reachable
pH and competing ionsAlkalinity, sulphate, chloride, phosphate effectsTells you real-wastewater fit
Dynamic breakthroughWorking capacity, breakthrough point, change-out cycleTells you project economics
Pressure drop and strengthPowdering, blockage or rapid pressure riseTells you if it can run in the plant
Cost per m³Pre-treatment, media, change-out, sludge and disposalTells you route competitiveness

Which reference brands do customers benchmark CENSIL 500 against?

Customers commonly benchmark against activated alumina media (DI-tech / Weco Filters, Tramfloc, Actas® / Bee Chems), calcium-salt precipitation with coagulation, strong-base anion exchange resin, and RO / NF membrane systems. We do not push a hard replacement — we test whether polishing after precipitation is genuinely needed.

Trademarks belong to their respective owners and are named for orientation only. No equivalence is claimed.

What documents are available for CENSIL 500?

Technical data sheet at the current supplier revision with the test method behind each figure, a specification sheet, a certificate of analysis for every lot, SDS / MSDS and a use statement for the destination market. Sensilchem does not publish specification tables on the website; request the set by email and it arrives matched to your application.

The material you use now, the formulation or resin, the equipment and the target you need to hit. That is enough for us to say whether we have something worth testing.
